We Need More Hours In A Day!

Did I mention that we have house guests arriving tomorrow?  That's my excuse for being such a bad blogger!  It's been a crazy two days and tomorrow will be also!  But we did have a visit with the Marino family yesterday.  Several cute photos and a video follow!  Here are a few other updates:

  • *Everyone has been through the doggy door all on their own.  Most have gotten stuck between the doors when I am inside cleaning and they are out.  This results in hysterics on all their parts!  Imagine that!
  • *Rhani is less and less interested in these little savages nursing on her.  I don't blame her as their teeth are like needles and they know how to use them!
  • *Everyone is eating kibble floated (not soaked) in water.  Maxwell and Rita are consistently late to the party, but they eventually show up and do their parts!  This is a funny group regarding eating.  They eat.  They go play.  They come back and eat some more.  They go do business.  They eat some more.  They go play.  They eat some more.  They go take a short rest.  They eat some more.  Meals take a long time with them!  I'm used to Dalmatians wolfing down their food fast.  Not these guys.  I need to plan at least 30 minutes if not more into my schedule to feed them (not counting clean up). The video below of Rita tugging the suspended toy, Maxwell and Jo Jo cha-chaing and Sadie in the Vari-Kennel is a mid-meal break and pretty much sums up meal times!
  • *Rhani is working on teaching the puppies their place.  I put her favorite BeneBone in the pen with them.  That's hers.  When she's chewing it, she lets them know it is off limits!  They all seem to understand and respect that.
  • *For two consecutive mornings, I've found almost no piddle in the pen.  They are using the grass mats!  Woo Hoo!  (We are still working on the outside pen mat, but that is improving also!)  Good puppies!
  • *They still sleep a lot.  Their play periods are intense and brief and then they crash!
  • *Yesterday, I went to PetCo because I found some gift cards Rhani won last year that I forgot about.  We have a new stash of toys that I can suspend from the pen and baby Nylabones and BeneBones. (I have to hide these from Rhani because she can actually eat them and is intent on doing so!)   I add a new toy inside and out each day.  The puppies never fail to find them quickly!
  • *I'm 99% confident that everyone can hear!  Rita may be a uni, but she hears.
  • *I don't think there are any blue eyes, but I could still be wrong about that.
  • *No, I don't have a favorite!  All these puppies speak to me for different reasons.  And they are still too little to evaluate their structure.

That's it for today!  Our company, Dave's family from Ohio, arrives tomorrow and we will be busy catching up with them and playing with puppies for several days, so I may not have updates till Sunday or Monday.  We'll just see how it goes!  Happy Labor Day Weekend!  Until next time....

I like to keep a diary of the puppies as much for myself as  for prospective puppy buyers and interested friends.  Sadly my blogs for Lucy's and Baili's litters are no longer available due to legacy systems, but I saved them off as pdf's and was reviewing them last night.  It was a good refresher on all kinds of things and brought back lots of good memories.  Looking forward to Imagine memories too!
