The Dewey x Rhani babies made their appearance across a 5 hour period on Saturday afternoon, August 1! They are a feisty, vocal, vigorous, hungry bunch! 2 boys and 3 girls. No patches, and we think 4 are black with one liver boy. (However, one girl is still TBD - more on that later!) They all weighed in at birth between 11 1/4 to 14 1/2 ounces. Not huge, but very good sized puppies. Rhani is a very attentive mom. She is also a vigorous eater!
The puppies are only 3 days old and they've already had lots of experiences! Our good friend, Linda Duncan, was here to help us with the whelping. Thank you, Linda! Our next door neighbors, Dave and Margot, came to meet them on Monday and they got their first nail trim! Today, we started Early Neurological Stimulation exercises this morning and they had their first car ride out to Chesterfield Veterinary Group to have their dew claws removed. Dr. Boillat pronounced them "big, vigorous" puppies. And he's right! As of today's weigh in, everyone is at least 1 pound. Everybody has consistently gained weight each day. It's amazing how fast puppies grow!
I like to keep a diary of the puppies as much for myself as for prospective puppy buyers and interested friends. Sadly my blogs for Lucy's and Baili's litters are no longer available due to legacy systems, but I saved them off as pdf's and was reviewing them last night. It was a good refresher on all kinds of things and brought back lots of good memories. Looking forward to Imagine memories too!
